Humiliation vs Love

I was reading the book of Mathews in the Bible and was on CHAPTER 26, which is titled the "the Plot to kill Jesus", basically the CHAPTER narrates how Jesus was delivered to the authorities for his crucifixion. It involved betrayal, humiliation, painful and shameful death for Jesus to give his love for us, to save us, to make sure that we still have a chance of direct relationship with God.Meditating about this made me learn that, in our day to day, this is almost the same thing happening in many different ways as follows;  The most painful betrayal a person can get is from the people they love most and sometimes most betrayals come from the closest people to you, that know you well. Now the difference is that Jesus knew who was going to betray him and yet he just sat wit him calmly but the moment we know who will betray us we become so bitter, our love is tested and we sometimes want to cut off the relationship, but then this is what it means to love, sometimes yo

THe SMall GOals THat BRing So MUCH in LIfe

I have been struggling with somethings in my head for the past few weeks and i must say that they had been draining my energy, been trying to accept something and letting it free from my mind but it wasn't easy. So i decided that i would have to work  extra hard to free my mind, how can my mind control me?not in any way. So i dedicated my week to three things #1.5 days workout (Monday to FRIDay),Clean eating and Enough WATER- am happy that i have accomplished this, the normal me works out two to three days and then weigh myself end of the week to a great disappointment of no weight loss and i then stop. But one thing that i have come into terms with is that;Exercises are not only for losing weight but for keeping a health you, so whether i drop a pound or not, am choosing this to be my life style. Working out makes me feel good and makes my body flexible. And on top of that i am learning to be PERSISTENT(exercises are not that easy, eating clean with so much junkies around

Yoga is the new deal

Among the things that i have been trying to learn is Yoga. First time I heard about Yoga, I thought of it as not a very big deal, it sounded to me just like any other story people exaggerate but then you have to be open to experience new things so you can learn. And I decided to pay attention to learning about Yoga and actually start practising it. Am still on the beginner posses but I am getting to experience something I never thought could have a very nice impact on my body and my mind. Yoga is explained as follows; "Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being; yoga helps promote a balanced development of all the three. Other forms of physical exercises, like aerobics, assure only physical well-being. They have little to do with the development of the spiritual or astral body.  Yogic exercises recharge the body with cosmic energy and facilitates:  1. Attainment of perfect equilibrium and harmony and Promotes self- healing. 2. Removes negative blocks from the mind and t

It's Hard being a Christian.

It's another Saturday, it is another Sabbath for the Seventh Adventists. As I sit to think and reflect how my week went by, I keep stumbling upon somethings that i have struggled with throughout this week, and I can't help but think of how it is hard being Me. And generally how harder it is being a Christian. Being a Christian means being an ambassador of Christ here on earth, walking like Christ and living like him. It's a big name, big responsibility than we think at times. You see, we go to church, we read the Bible and even preach out there to people to have Faith in God, to trust God n etc. But the real question is, do we have that strong Faith we preach?, do we walk that talk we talk? Especially when you are struggling or going through some hard times? Everyone can answer to themselves, but in my own opinion it is always easier said than done, though it can be done. And so yes, it is very hard to Trust in God when you are going through pain, misery or anything un

My SpECial Day on EArth

Growing up as an african woman in the third world country was never an easy journey. You meet alot of monsters(those who do you bad) on the way, have to deal with alot of real ghosts and mind you the society is watching you. Sometimes you fall, sometimes you are smart, and sometimes you learn things in a hard way. Inside every woman lies a fool. Yes even to the most smartest ones. And so at times your foolishn ess comes out and does wonders..(hahaha)it's normal though at times you pay for it. Challenges come on you so heavily and sometimes you run cowardly and leave them unsolved as they follow you like a shadow. Sometimes you take shortcuts to want to achieve things and it takes you forever, At times you make wrong turns that even you yourself wonder how you did that. But I have learnt that i am a human B.E.I.N.G, , (note the word being, ( present participle of be.) To mean that i am not complete, I am not perfect.. And that i make mistakes out of my human-"

The Purpose of pain

Ever wondered why we go through tough times?why we experience PAIN? Its because Sometimes blessings come through raindrops, come through PAIN. Ever wondered why we cry?because sometimes healing comes through tears. What if just what if the trials of this life are your mercies in disguise. Don't dwell on your pain, don't hold on the pain for too long, focus on the purpose of the pain. Understand that you needed that pain to get you where God needed you to be... Maybe you needed that pain to have a closer encounter with God Maybe u needed that pain to realize who you are and how strong you can be And maybe you needed that pain to open your mind and see where you have been is no longer your home,  and therefore you need to step away. Maybe the pain is there for you to step up..to let go, to forgive, to free yourself from what you have been holding on. Embrace yourself and be grateful for all the challenges that come on your way. You become a winner when you ove

Wema Wako

So i was listening to this song by Angel Benard '' Nikumbushe wema wako" And it made me think of situations that i have complained so much when things did not go the way i expected or wanted them to be, i also got reminded of how quickly people change opinion over a person once they are wronged. How quickly we judge people and forget the good things they did right by us, how one mistake makes us erase all the good things they did by us and see them as bad. Am reminded of how as people enjoy the rain when it comes, and start lamenting when it starts flooding, Of how we don't remain calm when troubled, of how we sometimes start blaming and are negative at thoughts when going through hard times. BUT That never takes us anywhere. first we  must learn to stay CALM(involves not jumping into conclusion), when the pressure is on, We should embrace new ways of thinking and view situations from all side, Keep the faith  and hope in God, and think positively. with l

Dope skirts for dope girls

How beautiful are these skirts, isn't big beautiful?

Do I love you more than i know you???

So this is one of the topics that people avoid to talk mostly because they are afraid of how people will view them, am going to be bold and brave enough to speak my mind about this because a week or a month doesn't go by without a close person asking /talking or mentioning about it to me. And i  know a lot of people  or friends who go through this questions. When are you getting married?  Every time you attend a friend's wedding, people will be looking at you and saying, "when is yours? i hope the next wedding is yours", then comparison starts of your age mates. People tend to ask a little bit too much at times, and it is a almost unavoidable, i think in our African culture and views ,a girl is supposed to be married at least by age 25, regardless. Earlier women got married at a very young age and by then things were different than the times we have now. Girls now go to school, get degrees and tend to chase their dreams. I believe every person has a diff

Lessons from the wilderness

A wilderness is considered to be the most inhospitable region/ a position of disfavor. Every person at a point in life experiences a "wilderness experience" (a tough time which endures discomfort  and trials, it can be emotional drought, spiritual or even financial drought). For Christians, there are several biblical examples of people enduring a "wilderness experience", . The people of Israel experienced a wilderness throughout their journey to the promised land and many other examples. Most of us are goal oriented people and we tend to believe that once we settle on a goal, a laser -like focus on it is the best way to reach it, if we block all the distractions around us, then most def initely we are to arrive to the promised land we have been dreaming of. But That's not exactly how life goes. Money is lost, it gets tight, family members get sick, jobs get downsized, houses get burnt, families separate, relationships break and any other things that com

Tanzania policy of kicking pregnant girls out of school is shameful

This is a serious issue that i expect many people will unite to Protest, how can we be making one step foward, two steps back? This does not make any sense in today's world, in a country that is still developing, in a country where the level of literacy is still progressing. This  is totally unacceptable from such a respected leader. Denying girls an opportunity to get Education has a direct impact both on their families and on wider society it actually perpetuates poverty and is against human rights. Girls deserve education as equally as boys, and more work needs to be done to ensure that they have access to reproductive health education so they can make safe choices for themselves and must be in a supportive educational environment. A number of studies have shown that increasing the number of girls benefiting from education has a positive effect on a country's per capital economic growth, So really there is no justifying reason as to why pregnancy should stop a girl

Emotional intelligence

There was this lady  i used to work with, who always knew exactly what to say, kept her cool, in tough situations, a great listener, an excellent problem solver- even under extreme stress, takes criticism well and uses it to effectively improve herself, she was confident. and i always asked myself, how do i get that?how do i get to be like her?,  One day i asked her, how she manages to be like that and she said, "emotional intelligence sweetie" it left me with many questions because I have always heard of IQ(intelligence quotient), (a measure of person's reasoning ability./ how someone can use information and logic to answer questions or make predictions.  BUT never heard of EQ(Emotional intelligence),  which is defined as "the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions , to discriminate among them and use this information to guide one's thinking and actions" EQ is very important, as emotions play a very big par

BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED

We cant always choose what comes in our life, neither can we prevent some circumstances happening. life happens. Things happen., whether good or bad, they still happen. You may not be where you want to be in life, you may not have the things you want to have in life, you might be still working on your dream so hard, and at times your life can look so broken and you keep wondering if ever you will be able to put back all the pieces and live completely. But then we have a choice of stepping back and letting situations control us or stepping up and making the best of our situations. " keeping our dreams alive is what uplifts the human spirit ", sometimes our dreams take time., and sometimes we have to tolerate somethings that we do not like to eventually get where we want to be. Instead of getting bitter and giving up, why not try blooming where you have been planted? the big question here is how? >Think of a flower that grows beautifully and admirably through a
